History
Primary School No.1307 was built by Mr N W Frogly and completed in 1883, Mrs Mary Maddicks was the first teacher and she lived in the four-room house which is attached to the classroom. In 1901 a new classroom was added in a sympathetic way using similar materials to the original classroom. In 1904 the verandahs to the teacher's house had some weatherboard alterations and additions but these additions have since been removed. Built of locally made brick with a slate roof the school is of considerable local historic interest as the original classroom and attached teacher's house are remarkably intact and there are very few unaltered school buildings of this period in good condition in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
